SEMINAR #1: Going Green, and the Reality of the Forest
Cal Huntzinger will be one of our speakers, speaking on how FSC certified wood is harvested, milled, graded and brought to the marketplace. He will also discuss locations of where different woods can be found, and how to properly specify them for their optimum look for their application.

SEMINAR #2: The Cost of Going Green.......Revisited
As construction costs rise and financial markets are in turmoil, building high quality buildings is becoming increasingly challenging. Cutting costs to stay on budget will often mean cutting quality in general, and sustainable elements in particular. The focus can move from the long term to the short term, with initial building cost becoming a driving factor. In this presentation, Peter Morris (who co-wrote the original "Cost of Going Green" article) will discuss recent studies undertaken examining the cost of sustainable design features, and place them in the context of the current economic forces which are driving up the cost of construction. The presentation will also address design and construction approaches which can help projects set and achieve high quality sustainability goals in these changing economic times.
Presented by: Peter Morris, Davis Langdon Consulting Services
SEMINAR #3: BIM, Productivity, and LEED certification
This session will provide an introductory background on Building Information Modeling and its use throughout the building design process. The evolution of BIM, it’s advantages to an organization, the challenges it presents, the changes it brings to the building design and construction process, and the opportunities it provides will all be addressed. A particular emphasis will be placed on the use of BIM in LEED projects for tracking information and utilizing BIM to make educated decisions early in the design process.
